Lulu Taylor is a bestselling novelist who has written eight novels that cross the genres from scandalous blockbuster to gripping sagas of family secrets and dark mysteries.
Lulu was brought up in Oxfordshire, went to school in Abingdon and then studied English Literature at university. After graduating, she moved to London and began working in publishing, where she commissioned and edited women’s fiction. After ten years learning the craft of novels through editing, she went freelance and began to write. Her first novel, Heiresses, published by Random House, is in the grand tradition of the blockbusters of Shirley Conran, Judith Krantz and Jackie Collins, but with a modern and British flavour all its own. With glamorous locations, a cast of gorgeous high society characters, racy storylines and dramatic plots, Heiresses was followed by Midnight Girls, Beautiful Creatures and Outrageous Fortune.
In 2012, Lulu moved to the publishing house Pan Macmillan and began writing in a different genre. While her books are still set in glamorous locations – wonderful old houses often feature – and aim to be just as page-turning and engrossing, they are now darker and more mysterious, with a historical element that allows movement between the past and the present. The Winter Folly, her first book in this new style, won more readers and after The Snow Angel, her latest published novel, The Winter Children, became a Sunday Times bestseller. Her next, The Snow Rose, is due out in December 2016.
In 2014 Lulu left London and now lives in West Dorset near the Somerset border, with her husband and two children.
